Welcome to our new website! And welcome back if you’ve been reading our updates before we did some virtual spring cleaning and refreshing our online shop for our edible flowers and wedding flowers.
It’s been a really busy few weeks getting the farm ready for the season ahead, and we are just finishing off the last of the winter infrastructure jobs. We’ve planted 30 fruit trees in the veg plot to set up the silvohorticulture system, which is where trees and perennials are growing alongside annual crops to provide protection from extremes of weather. This is part of our continual thinking about how to protect the farm from climate change. As an added bonus they will provide apples, pear, plums and gages to go in our veg boxes, and blossom for our edible flowers and our range of gift bouquets and other cut flowers. We got these trees from Fruit Works in Leeds and would really recommend them to any one looking to buy fruit trees.
We have also built another polytunnel which means we will have some additional space to grow more varieties of seasonal British flowers for longer, meaning they will be available to buy for more of this year.
We are still a few weeks off being able to fill lots of orders for our edible flowers, and our full range of flowers for cakes, but the first of the varieties are starting to appear. We’ve been excited to see the muscari and Bellis daisy coming through and can’t wait to start sending them out to customers. We have added some perennials to our edible flower range as well. We have increased our range of foliage, particularly concentrating on variegated larger leaves that will last longer on cakes. We have also added new flowers such as magnolia, sea holly and hibiscus.
Our availability lists and prices for 2026 are now available. Please get in touch if you would like more information. And while this is the website for our seasonal edible flowers, you can find out more about the cut flowers and vegetables which we sell locally here.
